DESCRIPTION
Central Market is the mixed used development in the heart of downtown Abu Dhabi. As the former souk area, the site has been the centre of trade and a focal point for both citizens and tourists for over 40 years.
A world-class centre for relating, shoppers will be able to browse chic boutiques, international brands and convenience outlets along the cool spacious arcades diffused with natural light and greenery. Crossing the bridge, a traditional Arabian souk area will sell artifacts typifying the region’s rich cultural heritage. As a 24 hour city-centre leisure destination, the complex will encompass parks, cinemas, a gym and swimming pool, as well as a food court, restaurants and nightlife venues.
Designed by world-renowned architects Foster & partners, Central Market is a fully integrated mix of retail, office space, residential and leisure facilities, combining tradition and modern design. It will become as synonymous with Abu Dhabi as the Champs Elysees is with Paris, or Times Square with New York.
Crowning the development will be 3 ultra modern towers. The 88-storey residential tower will be 382m high and will be the tallest tower on Abu Dhabi’s skyline. It will house 489 luxury apartments, ranging from 1 bedroom to large duplexes and four- bedroom penthouses. The five star hotel tower will be 55 storeys high, with 279 rooms and 132 serviced apartments. The office tower will offer 58 storeys of prime office space while the smallest tower, of 16 storeys, will be a four star hotel with 212 rooms.
