Description

Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a dynamic waterfront community, encompassing attractive residential and office towers alongside hotels and retail outlets. A total of 87 towers stand tall in this prestigious project. 79 towers will be clustered in groups of three and will be surrounded by calming lakes, beautifully landscaped gardens and unique waterways. Four winding, man-made lakes create a vibrant waterfront environment and provide stunning views from all around. Eight new towers with views over the Jumeirah Islands lakes will stand tall in the JLT Embankment areas. Jumeirah Lakes Towers is situated adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road, between Interchanges 5 and 5.5 (currently under construction).

JLT Community
The Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is a mixed-use community with a little over 50% of the Towers planned for residential use, 27% as office only and the rest as hotel or mixed use. Four towers within the development will offer hotel facilities, 3 are earmarked as serviced apartments in part. Retail areas will help enhance the overall community atmosphere with dedicated supermarkets, laundries, restaurants and areas of shopping.

From an architectural viewpoint the distinctiveness of each tower design will provide an individualistic appeal to this community. Offering land as well as some water based entertainment and recreation opportunities, the development has extensive facilities for shopping, indoor sports and dining.

In view of the uncomfortable climate in the summer months in the region an air conditioned buffer zone is being provided between the landscaped areas and the actual shop front of the retail areas. All the architectural options have been designed to allow an open-air approach with a colonnade for the retail frontages in the winter months and optional air-conditioned walkways in the summer months.

To assist in the circulation between the two levels of retailing, special glass circulation towers have also been designed, serving as focal points and way finding beacons for the clusters.

Facilities

Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) has been planned as a community where people can live and work with equal comfort and tranquility. The waterfront promenade will allow for outdoor cafes and restaurants, for use by day and night. Community retail, in attached and detached format, will allow for all the basics to be available at close quarters.

Squares and garden between the clusters create connectivity between the larger districts of the community. People living and working within JLT will have a wide range of facilities within reach with quiet community areas with benches, cafe terraces, and shaded walkways.

Additional features include pavement fountains, lake fountains, gardens adjacent to avenues, groves of trees, desert gardens and bespoke sculptural features lending to both small scale internal interest, as well as contributing to expansive views.

Day care centres and children’s play areas have been visualized as part of the community. Children will be allowed to use electronic remote control boats in controlled areas of the lake along with enjoying activities such as cycling, walking and even roller-skating.

In addition to the community facilities, each tower shall cater to the needs of its tenants with facilities such as gymnasiums, saunas, swimming pools, conference centres, high-speed elevators, and state of the art security systems.
